Ownership

Anyone can be a member of Loyal to Local.

All are welcome to order from the Co-op, but we simply wouldn't exist without owners. It's important to remember that the Co-op is governed by its membership, and both Producers and Customers can be members. Your voice is valued as a member of a cooperative, and you will have a say in how the Loyal to Local is run, what products we provide, and how the we contribute to the local food system in the Bitterroot Valley.

Who can be a member of the Co-op?

Producers - To sell through the Co-op, producers must become an owning member. A one-time purchase of $50 buys you a common stock share and you're a member for life. There are no other annual fees or additional costs. Once a member, producers can sell any of their Bitterroot and Montana produced products through the Co-op.

Customers - To buy through the Co-op, customers and CSA subscribers are not required to become owning members, but may do so if they choose. Customers who become owning members purchase a one-time $50 common stock share and are in for life. There are no other annual fees or additional costs.  Though members who buy through the Co-op do not receive special services or discounts, they are invited to attend Co-op meetings, encouraged to participate in decision making, and enjoy all the other benefits of being an owning member, like patronage refunds.
